Supported devices

  • Android TV and Google TV — Sony, Philips, TCL and Xiaomi televisions, and off-the-shelf boxes
  • Amazon Fire TV — Fire TV Stick and Fire TV televisions
  • Android boxes on 7.0 or later, plugged into HDMI

An Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick makes the app available on any television, however old, as long as it has an HDMI socket.

An interface made for the D-pad

On these devices there is no thumb and no cursor: there is a D-pad. The app therefore offers an interface separate from the mobile one, where every item is reached with the arrows and the selection is marked by a golden halo that stays legible even over a bright poster.

Grids, poster rows and the sidebar are sized for reading from the sofa. See Smart TV and boxes.

Installing and setting up

  1. Open the Play Store on your television or box (the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV) and search for AICKO IPTV.
  2. Install it, then start the app.
  3. A six-digit code and a QR code appear: scan it with your phone and enter your credentials on the mobile.
  4. The television connects on its own and loads your catalogue.

On a Fire TV Stick, prefer a wired network or a good Wi-Fi spot: most stuttering playback on these sticks comes from throughput, not from the player.
