Favourites accept all three kinds of content: live channels, movies and series. They are gathered in a dedicated space, reachable from the main navigation.
Why they follow you from screen to screen
Your favourites belong to your account, not to the device. Add a channel from your phone: it appears on the television the next time you open it. Change phone and you only have to sign in again to find everything.
