FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The questions we are asked most often about AICKO IPTV.

What exactly is AICKO IPTV?

It is a media player — video and audio — that plays the streams of your own IPTV subscription. It supports Xtream Codes accounts and M3U playlists, and comes as a mobile app, as Windows software and in a television version.

Is AICKO IPTV free?

Yes, downloading and using it are free on every platform, and the app shows no advertising. You do need an IPTV subscription of your own, taken out with the provider of your choice.

Does AICKO IPTV sell channels or subscriptions?

No. The app hosts, broadcasts and sells no content. It displays only the playlist you give it. You must make sure you hold the necessary rights from your provider.

Does the app also play audio, radio and MP3 files?

Yes. The player is built on the libmpv engine, the same one behind the mpv player, which plays video streams and audio streams alike — radio stations and MP3 or AAC tracks in your playlist.

Which devices does AICKO IPTV run on?

On iPhone and iPad (iOS 14 and later), on Android (7 and later), on Windows 10 and 11 as software, and on television: Android TV, Google TV, Amazon Fire TV and Samsung (Tizen 4.0 and above).

What is the difference between Xtream Codes and M3U?

Xtream Codes uses a server address, a username and a password, and gives access to posters, plots, seasons and the EPG guide. An M3U playlist is only a URL: simpler, but often without metadata. Details on the Xtream Codes and M3U page.

Can several subscriptions be saved?

Yes. Several accounts live side by side in the app and you switch from one to the other without entering your credentials again. The active account is synced with your other devices.

How do I install the software version for Windows?

Download the installer from the Download page and run the .exe file. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning, choose More info then Run anyway — it appears on any recently published installer.

How do I set the app up on my television without a keyboard?

Use pairing by code: the television shows six digits and a QR code, you enter your credentials on your phone, and the television connects automatically.

My television is not supported — is there a way round it?

Yes: an Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick plugged into HDMI brings the app to any television. A Windows PC connected to the screen works as well.

Are my favourites and my progress kept across devices?

Yes, with the same account. Favourites, playback progress, hidden categories and saved accounts are synced: start a movie on the phone, finish it on the television.

Can I watch offline?

No. AICKO IPTV plays the streams live from your server; there is no offline download. An internet connection is needed throughout playback.

Which languages is the app translated into?

Into six languages: French, English, Arabic, German, Spanish and Italian. In Arabic the whole layout runs right to left. See Six languages.

Why will my channels not start?

Most often the cause lies with the subscription: expired credentials, too many simultaneous connections, or the provider’s server being down. If only one channel is affected, that particular source is at fault. See the setup guide.

Why is the programme guide empty?

The EPG is sent by your subscription, not by the app. If your provider does not send it, no player can show it. See Live TV and EPG.

Why does the picture stutter?

Quality depends on the stream supplied and on your internet speed. Try a channel at a lower definition, move closer to the Wi-Fi router, or switch to an Ethernet cable on the television.

What data does the app collect?

Only what the service needs: your settings, your favourites, your playback positions and the credentials used to connect to your server. Nothing is sold, nothing is advertised. The details are in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Write to aicko@muslim-alim.com from the address linked to your account. The detailed procedure is in the privacy policy.

How do I contact support?

Through the contact form or by email to aicko@muslim-alim.com. State your platform, your connection type and what appears on screen: the diagnosis will be far quicker.
